HealthCare.gov is straining under the pressure of current enrollment. If you recall Secretary Sylvia Burwell projects nearly 14 million individuals will sign up for coverage through the ACA marketplaces. This is an increase of over 1.1 million for 2016.
CMS is projecting over 18.5 million enrollees in 2017 for Medicare Advantage. CMS also says that 32% of all Medicare enrollees will be in a Medicare Advantage rather than traditional a Medicare plan and that premiums will remain stable. Open enrollment for Medicare Advantage ends December 7, 2016 so we should have accurate membership retention and movement soon.
